Anselmo Cepero-Akselrad, MD
Biography:
Dr. Anselmo Cepero-Akselrad received his medical degree from the University of Havana in Cuba. He completed his residency training in general pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital and a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. In 1988, he became a member of the pediatric nephrology division at Miami Children’s Hospital where he developed the chronic hemodialysis unit. Other clinical interests include hypertension, collagen vascular diseases, and urinary incontinence.
In 1996, Dr. Cepero-Akselrad created the Center for Enuresis & Urinary Disorders / Urodynamics at Miami Children’s and served as director until 2016. He also started the practice of in-office renal / bladder ultrasound. Dr. Cepero-Akselrad was the director of pediatric nephrology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Cepero-Akselrad is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology and has published numerous scientific publications. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
