Marines Castillo, MD
Biography:
Dr. Marines Castillo cares for children with a wide range of endocrine conditions, combining clinical expertise with a strong background in research and education. A board‑certified pediatric endocrinologist at KIDZ Medical Services, she is dedicated to helping families understand complex hormonal and metabolic disorders with clarity and confidence.
She completed her pediatric residency at the Centro Médico Episcopal San Lucas & Ponce Health Sciences University Consortium in Puerto Rico, followed by fellowship training in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Children’s of Alabama. She is board‑certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed to practice in Florida, Alabama, and Puerto Rico.
Dr. Castillo has presented her research nationally and published multiple abstracts in peer‑reviewed journals on topics such as diabetes technology equity, insulin pump initiation, hypercholesterolemia, and vitamin D deficiency. Her work has been recognized by the Pediatric Endocrine Society, where she was selected for the 2025 Fellow Spotlight and received a Core Conference Attendance Award.
Before joining KIDZ Medical Services, she was actively involved in clinical teaching and peer education, delivering presentations to pediatric residents and fellows on adrenal insufficiency, puberty, thyroid function, and other core endocrine topics. She also supported her community by hosting educational podcasts for Spanish‑speaking families to help parents better understand general pediatric health.
Dr. Castillo is a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de Puerto Rico, and other national medical organizations. She is fluent in English and Spanish and focuses on making endocrine care understandable and accessible so families feel informed and supported throughout their child’s treatment.
