Marines Castillo Echevarria, MD
Biography:
Marines Castillo Echevarria, MD is a board-certified pediatric endocrinologist at KIDZ Medical Services. She completed her pediatric residency at the Centro Médico Episcopal San Lucas & Ponce Health Sciences University Consortium in Puerto Rico and went on to complete her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Children’s of Alabama. Dr. Castillo is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed to practice in Florida, Alabama, and Puerto Rico.
Dr. Castillo has presented her research nationally and published multiple abstracts in peer-reviewed journals on a range of pediatric endocrine conditions, including diabetes technology equity, insulin pump initiation, and complex metabolic disorders such as hypercholesterolemia and vitamin D deficiency. Her clinical and academic work has been recognized by the Pediatric Endocrine Society, where she was selected for the 2025 Fellow Spotlight and received a Core Conference Attendance Award.
Before joining KIDZ Medical, Dr. Castillo was actively involved in clinical teaching and peer education, delivering presentations to pediatric residents and fellows on topics such as adrenal insufficiency, puberty, and thyroid function. She also served her community by hosting educational podcasts focused on general pediatric topics for Spanish-speaking families.
Dr. Castillo is a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society, American Academy of Pediatrics, Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de Puerto Rico, and other national medical organizations.
She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
