Juan Martinez, MD
Biography:
Juan C. Martinez, MD, is a board-certified pediatric pulmonologist and pediatric sleep medicine specialist at KIDZ Medical Services. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at MetroHealth Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in pediatric pulmonary medicine at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Martinez is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, the American Sub-Board of Pediatric Pulmonology, and the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Before joining KIDZ Medical Services, Dr. Martinez served for over two decades at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, where he was chief of the pediatric pulmonology, cystic fibrosis, and pediatric sleep division, as well as medical director of both the Joe DiMaggio Sleep Disorders Center and the Joe DiMaggio Cystic Fibrosis Center. His leadership was recognized with multiple “Outstanding Partner Awards” from the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Dr. Martinez has been actively involved in research and clinical trials on cystic fibrosis, asthma, and pediatric sleep disorders, contributing to peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national presentations. His work has addressed topics ranging from advanced asthma management and pediatric sleep apnea to rare pulmonary complications, and he has lectured extensively at national conferences.
An affiliate clinical assistant professor at Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Martinez has been deeply committed to medical education, mentoring residents, fellows, and peers in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
