Ana Paredes, MD
Biography:
Dr. Ana Paredes is a board‑certified pediatric nephrologist with more than 32 years of experience caring for children with kidney disorders. She received her medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela Escuela de Medicina in 1983. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by fellowship training in pediatric nephrology at Boston Children’s Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Paredes is board‑certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics. She previously served as a member of the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Jackson Memorial Hospital before joining the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Her clinical interests include bone diseases such as osteogenesis imperfecta, juvenile osteopenia, and metabolic bone disease associated with renal failure. She is currently a principal investigator for multiple clinical research trials involving focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, IgA nephropathy, and renal osteodystrophy, and she has co‑authored numerous scientific publications.
Dr. Paredes is an active member and fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, and the American Society for Pediatric Research. She is fluent in English and Spanish and is dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence‑based care to children with complex kidney conditions.
