Ana Paredes, MD
Biography:
Dr. Ana Paredes is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nephrologist. She received her medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela Escuela de Medicina in 1983. Dr. Paredes completed her pediatric residency at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital and her fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard School of Medicine.
Dr. Paredes is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics. She was a member of the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Jackson Memorial Hospital before joining the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Her clinical interests include bone diseases such as osteogenesis imperfecta, juvenile osteopenia, and metabolic bone disease associated with renal failure. She is currently a principal investigator for various clinical research trials involving focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, IgA nephropathy, and renal osteodystrophy. She has co-authored numerous scientific publications.
Dr. Paredes is an active member and fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, and the American Society for Pediatric Research. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has over 32 years of experience in the field of Pediatric Nephrology.
