Biography:
Dr. Lilibet Fernandez Valdes is a board-certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist at KIDZ Medical Services. She specializes in diagnosing and treating children with blood disorders and cancer, and providing evidence-based, individualized care for complex conditions including leukemias, lymphomas, sickle cell disease, and bleeding disorders.
Dr. Fernandez Valdes earned her medical degree from the Universidad de Carabobo in Venezuela. She completed her pediatric residency at San Juan City Hospital in Puerto Rico, followed by a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
Board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Fernandez Valdes is fluent in Spanish and works closely with families to ensure they fully understand their child’s diagnosis and care plan. Beyond her clinical practice, she brings an extensive background in pediatric research, having served for several years as a research associate and coordinator at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she contributed to peer-reviewed publications and national presentations on oncological therapies, blood disorders, and patient outcomes.
