Sofia Catena, MD
Biography:
Dr. Sofia Catena, MD is a pediatric geneticist at KIDZ Medical Services. She completed her fellowship in medical genetics and her residency in pediatrics at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Prior to that, she completed an additional residency in clinical genetics at the National Center of Medical Genetics in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she received the highest national score for admission.
Dr. Catena previously served as a professor of genetics at the Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile. There, she taught clinical genetics to medical students and supervised pediatric residents in their genetics rotations.
She has presented her work at numerous international genetics conferences and has authored peer-reviewed publications in the field of clinical genetics. Her research includes studies on rare genetic disorders such as Raine syndrome and Silver-Russell syndrome.
Dr. Catena is a member of both the European Society of Human Genetics and the Argentinean Society of Genetics. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
