Ossama M. Maher, MD
Biography:
Dr. Ossama M. Maher received his medical degree from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his residency at Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York and his fellowship in hematology-oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Maher also completed a combined pediatric neuro-oncology/stem cell transplant fellowship at Dana-Faber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School.
He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology oncology. Dr. Maher is the associate clinical director of the neuro-oncology program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital which provides state-of-the-art treatment for all newly diagnosed and recurrent brain tumors in pediatrics. In addition, Dr. Maher serves as Co-Medical Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Nicklaus. He also conducts research studies and stem cell transplantation for children with brain tumors.
Dr. Maher is a member of the American Society of Hematology; American Society of Clinical Oncology; American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology; and the Society for Neuro-Oncology.
