Biography:
Dr. Mislen S. Bauer is a board‑certified clinical geneticist with more than four decades of experience in pediatric genetics and metabolic disorders. She helps children and families understand complex genetic conditions, including neurofibromatosis (NF1 and NF2), craniofacial syndromes, and a wide range of inherited metabolic and developmental disorders. Her approach blends deep clinical expertise with a steady, reassuring presence.
She earned her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, and completed her pediatric residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Bauer then pursued fellowship training in the Division of Genetics at the University of Miami, where she strengthened her foundation in both clinical genetics and metabolic medicine.
Dr. Bauer has also contributed to international medical education as an International Coordinator for a pediatric medical exchange program, supporting collaboration and training across borders. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board‑certified in clinical genetics and genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
