Jorge E. Perez, MD
Biography:
Dr. Jorge E. Perez is a respected healthcare leader who has been practicing medicine, teaching, and conducting clinical research in the field of neonatology for more than three decades.
As a co-founder of KIDZ Medical Services — a neonatal, pediatric, and women’s healthcare organization — Dr. Perez serves as the Medical Director of Neonatal and Newborn Services, overseeing healthcare teams at the many KIDZ Medical locations throughout South Florida. He is also a co-founder of AIRZ (Air Medical Charters, LLC), a full-service air ambulance and executive charter transportation provider based in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Perez is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both neonatology and pediatric medicine. After medical school, Dr. Perez completed his residency in pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Tampa General Hospital, affiliated with the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Perez has held leadership positions at many institutions with which KIDZ Medical is affiliated. He also contributes to numerous philanthropic initiatives and serves as a member of the Orange Bowl Committee. In 2024, Dr. Perez received the inaugural March of Dimes Mission Impact Award for his commitment to the health of moms and babies. In 2019, Dr. Perez was awarded the Physician Leadership Award by the Breastfeeding Coalition of Palm Beach County in recognition of his contribution to the health of mothers and babies through the promotion, protection, and support of breastfeeding.
Dr. Perez is an Affiliate Professor at FIU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science at FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.
Additionally, Dr. Perez is a dedicated researcher who serves as the President of the KIDZ Research Division. He has contributed to clinical research published in journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Pediatrics, Pediatric Nephrology, and The Journal of Pediatrics.
Dr. Perez’s research team regularly collaborates with both industry and academia to ensure KIDZ remains at the forefront of technology and medical advancement.
