About Pediatric Nephrology

The Pediatric Nephrology Division of Kidz Medical Services provides medical care to children and teenagers in Miami Dade and Palm Beach County, Florida. Children and teenagers have unique medical needs and require the specialized care of physicians trained specifically to care for children and teenagers. Pediatric Nephrologists undergo special training in order to better care for young patients. The Pediatric Nephrology Division focuses on providing the highest quality of medical care possible. Pediatric Nephrology involves the diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders affecting the kidney and urinary tract. These disorders include:

  • Kidney failure
  • High blood pressure
  • Genetic kidney diseases
  • Kidney stones
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Abnormalities in the urine
  • Growth and developmental problems related to chronic kidney disease

Our Physicians

Omer Mansoor, M.D.

Dr. Mansoor is a board-certified pediatric nephrologist practicing in Palm Beach County, Florida. Dr. Mansoor obtained his medical degree from Sind Medical College in Pakistan. He completed pediatric residencies at the National Institute of Child Health in Karachi, Pakistan and the West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Dr. Mansoor also completed a pediatric nephrology fellowship at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Mansoor is licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine. He is board certified by the Diplomate American Board of Pediatrics. Additionally, Dr. Mansoor is board certified in pediatric nephrology. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology.

Dr. Anselmo Cepero-Akselrad, Pediatric Nephrology

Anselmo Cepero-Akselrad, M.D.

Dr.Cepero completed his training in general Pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital. Then, he spent 2 more years in Pediatric Nephrology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York, New York. In 1988 he became a member of the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Miami Children’s Hospital where he developed the chronic hemodialysis unit. Other clinical interests include     hypertension, collagen vascular diseases, and urinary incontinence. In 1996 he created the Center for Enuresis & Urinary Disorder/Urodynamics at Miami Children’s acting as director until 2016. He started the practice of renal/bladder ultrasound in-office. Dr. Cepero-Akselrad had been president of the Medical Staff Executive Committee for two terms. Is an actual member of the Bylaws Committee and Vice-President of the Medical Excecutive Committee at Nicklaus Chldren’s Hospital. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology and has published numerous scientific publications. Dr. Cepero is bilingual in English and Spanish. He is the Director of the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

Ana Paredes M.D.

Dr. Paredes completed her Pediatric Residency training program at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami and her subspecialty training in Pediatric Nephrology at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, Harvard School  of Medicine. Dr. Paredes is Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatrics Nephrology and she is licensed tp practice medicine in the state of Florida and Massachusetts with fluency in both English and Spanish. Dr. Paredes is an active member and fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, American Society of Pediatric Nephrology and the Society for Pediatric Research. Dr. Paredes is currently a Principle Investigator for various clinical research protocols involving, among other, focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, IgA nephropathy and renal osteodystrophy, She has coauthor numerous scientific publications. Dr. Paredes has special clinical interest in various bone diseases including Osteogenesis Imperfecta, juvenile osteopenia and metabolic bone disease associated with renal failure.

Mariselis Rosa-Sanchez M.D.

Dr. Mariselis Rosa-Sanchez joined the Pediatric Nephrology Department of Kidz Medical Services on July 2016. She earned her medical degree in San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, she then completed her pediatric residency in the University of Puerto Rico Pediatric Program and completed her Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship from the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Rosa Sanchez is American Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology. She is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology. Sha has clinics in Miami, Homestead and West Boca. Her clinical interest include Hypertension, Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation.
