
Douglas Freeley, MD
Biography:
Douglas Freeley, MD is a graduate of the US Military Academy and New York Medical College. He completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. This was followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Freeley has practiced Pediatric Ophthalmology for over 35 years and has written many articles and papers on related subjects. He has spent most of his career in both clinical and academic positions, the last being Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in NYC. He has extensive experience in all areas of Pediatric Ophthalmology and has performed over 4,000 strabismus surgeries.Dr. Freeley and his family lived in Ecuador, SA for 7 years working as medical missionaries.
Dr. Freeley and his wife Kristen live in North Naples and spend most of their free time enjoying our great Florida outdoor life and working with their church
